Chur offers a great option for a break, boasting small picturesque streets as well as plenty of urban energy. You then tick the first pass off the list with the Julier Pass, which will leave quite an impression with its height of 2,284 meters and more than 20 hairpin curves. The wonderful lake scenery around Silvaplana provides a feast for the eyes after the descent.
The Bernina Pass und Forcola di Livigno bring you over the 2,300-meter mark and lead you into Italy. There you reach Lago di Livigno which will accompany you on your tour for quite a few kilometers. This cruising phase offers a welcome rest as shortly afterwards, you'll need to be in full control of your bike again to conquer the 2,383-meter-high alpine pass. After a short break on the high plateau, you can start heading back to Arlberg via the Wolfgang Pass and through Prättigau.
This route offers several appealing alternatives, such as the stretch across the Albula Pass with its beautiful landscape or a combination with Tour 5: Silvretta Hochalpenstraße towards the Reschensee.
