The Ski Club Arlberg and Stuben

Today, Arlberg numbers among the most visited ski areas. [...] The meals and accommodation satisfy the large number of visitors and meet the increased demands. St. Anton has long enjoyed a reputation as a famous winter sports location, idyllic Stuben exerts a strong attraction for skiers. And to praise St. Christoph and Zürs for learners and experienced skiers, for trick skiers and slalom skiers of all ages and genders, would mean "to bring snow in winter on the Valluga". Mountain guides (like the exceptionally capable Schallert in Zürs) are available, skiing lessons, ski races, ski balls are held –
that's winter life in Arlberg today.

Fritz Kurz (1913)

Even before the First World War, the Arlberg region had made a name for itself nationally as a famous ski area, something that Ski-Club Arlberg had made a not insignificant contribution to with its activities.

The Stuben ski area was particularly highlighted in numerous travelogues. The town can claim to be the first winter sports location in Vorarlberg.
